LYKKI LI : Rodeo Magazine / Spring 2011

I love how intimate these photos feel. It's as if we just woke up with her, in her apartment, and are just spending the morning lounging around with her. Love love love everything about it: the art direction, styling, so on...

Wisdom Ripens Into Silence

"Wisdom ripens into silence

When she grows more truly wise,

And she wears a mellow silence

In her heart and eyes.

Wisdom ripens into silence,

And the lesson she does teach

Is that life is more than language,

And thought is more than speech."

I listened to the Bootsy Collins' record for the first time yesterday.
Album is named "Play with Bootsy"

Bootsy asked me to come play with him throughout it,
all I have to say from that is

BOOTSY BABY.. Im all yours

--Bootsey, I must admit, youve got the whole funk thing entirely down.--

I was also introduced to CHATROULETTE.COM.
Basically,

the site randomly pairs you up to a random person anywhere on the earth and you video chat with them.

Then at any time, you can press

NEXT

and be transferred to the next random.
I have made so many friends.
Have seen so many thing I didnt want to see.
Have watched to many parties go down in the European nation.

Also, as usual, I did some fashion research, thanks to Google and the Olsen icons.
Love the sunglasses.

Have a feeling.
Looking like a current day Dylan or Lenin will be the next big fabulous trend.

Heroine Chic has been back.

Dave Matthews...my love

"Sometimes I can't move my feet, it seems as if I'm stuck in the ground somehow like a tree. And my screams come whispering as if nobody can even see a ghost. Sometimes I can't see myself. Sometimes, then again,....

Oh If I had everything, If I had you and I could give you your dreams, If I were giant-sized, on top of it tell me what in the world would I sing? I had it all ......"

New room, Viola!

So, Ive redone a wall of my room
that had been white and pasty
for way too long.

Listening to The Weathertunes,

(Forget the video in this link. Just close your eyes for this one),

cutting up pages from Nylon and Sunset Magazine,
and collaging with bright, shiny, silver tacks makes for a splendid afternoon.

A photo I took while up in The Angeles Crest Forest
Stunning!
A photo I took in Downtown.
One of the most confusing street signs around;
hopefully nobody thinks its real.

Snippet from a Nylon Magazine Editorial

That thumbnail of a man on the right is going to be my future husband.
Or at least somebody similar to him.
I stole this photo out of a magazine at the doctors office.

Never knew ripping paper could be so loud.

A piece I did. Charcoal on paper.

Buttons

Here is the darling Sia.

"I don't wanna grow old. Bring me all the toys you can find.

You don't wanna grow up. You can be my partner in crime.

I'll be sure to write you from the war. Put your guns away it's tea time.

Water bombs and tea towel tired mums. Looking for a little me time.

Close your eyes and count to thirty five. You may never ever find me.

Close my eyes and then I realize. You are never far behind me."

August poet.

splendid!

Ms. Bourgeois

Funny lady, this Miss Peggy Guggenheim...
a progressive art collector and socialite from the 1898s.

She begun working at an avant garde bookshop,
where from which she came across the underground art culture and Bohemian community. From there, she dove into the free, disengaged counter culture.

Introducing...... Miss Peggy

Where The Wild Things Are

It is based on Maurice Sendak's
simple,
pure picture book.
The concept is thankfully slicing through the current trend
for super heros and action robots.
One which is confusing in that it lacks a softness which is so important for children.

Ive indulged in collecting photos...

I am want a WILD THING of my own,
To take me across the seven seas,
Through the forests and the mountains and the desert indeed.

I want a WILD THING of my own,
to run with me and get me be,
The child that I am
Free, ah, sometimes I do feel it,
Free.

My darlings,
The wild things live here,
Wherever you want them to be.

The Wild Things,
My darling,
Are you

The Wild Things,
My darling,
Are me

Urban Outfitters Ad Campaign

Urban Outfitters Apparel may be expensive,
but I can do what they do through creativity...
and the good ol second hand store.

Now,
I would like to pose a decent question:

who manages their ad campaigns?

Whoever it is has a degree in fine art.
I am absolutely, desperately in love
with the grungy, quarky, edgy ingenuity...

The 80's are coming back.
High waisted jeans,
cut-off tees,
hippie headbands.
